LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. - Maritime College men's cross country coach James Driscoll, St. Joseph's women's cross country coach Jim Crowley, and St. Joseph's golf coach George Cangero have been selected as Skyline Conference Coaches of the Year in their respective sports. All three coaches guided their teams to Skyline championships this fall.
James Driscoll led Maritime College to its first Skyline Conference cross country title. The Privateers had four of the top 11 finishers in the conference championship meet while recording a team score of 48 points. Bard College finished second with 62 points in the nine-team event. The Skyline title was the first for Maritime in any sport.
Jim Crowley's women's cross country team at St. Joseph's College captured its second straight Skyline Conference title. The Golden Eagles had all five scorers finish in the top 13. St. Joseph's compiled 41 team points, finishing comfortably ahead of second-place Purchase (63).
After finishing fourth at the Skyline Conference Golf Championship in 2006, St. Joseph's College coach George Cangero guided his team to the Skyline Conference championship in 2007. The Golden Eagles, who earned the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Championship in the spring, captured their second Skyline title in the last three years.
