2009 Skyline Conference Fall Sport Scholar-Athlete List (PDF)
CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. - Skyline Conference commissioner Tracy King announced that 358 student-athletes in seven fall sports have qualified for the Skyline Conference Scholar-Athlete List for the 2009 Fall semester. In addition, student-athletes from seven different conference sports have been named Skyline Conference Scholar-Athletes of the Year in their respective fall sports.
Among the 358 student-athletes earning a spot on the Scholar-Athlete list, a total of 27 student-athletes earned a perfect 4.0 GPA in the fall while they competed. The total of 358 fall sport scholar-athletes marked an increase from fall of 2008 when the conference had a total of 316 students named to the Scholar-Athlete List.
"This is the third consecutive year in which the number of scholar-athletes in the conference has increased," said King. "Our student-athletes continue to demonstrate that it is possible to excel in the classroom while participating in intercollegiate athletics. This is a tribute to the quality of the student-athletes that our institutions continue to attract."
In order to qualify for the conference's Scholar-Athlete List, student-athletes must achieve a grade point average of 3.30 or higher during the semester in which they compete.
One Scholar-Athlete of the Year is selected in each sport. The Scholar-Athlete of the Year is the individual with the highest semester GPA among First Team All-Conference selections.
