2007-08 Skyline Conference Swimming Championship Results

PURCHASE, N.Y. - Sophomore Annie Parodi captured three individual events while freshman Virginia Miller took two firsts and one second in leading Mount Saint Mary College to the Skyline Conference Women's Swimming Championship title.

Mount Saint Mary compiled 107 team points, earning a narrow victory over second-place Purchase (101).  St. Joseph's finished third (48), followed by Mount Saint Vincent (38), Maritime (31) and Old Westbury (21).

Parodi was named Skyline Conference Women's Swimmer of the Year after capturing all three of her individual events.  She won the 200-yard butterfly (2:27.39), 200-yard backstroke (2:25.71) and 200-yard individual medley (2:25.86).  She also swam the first leg on the winning 200-yard medley relay team.

Miller earned Skyline Rookie of the Year honors after capturing both the 100-yard breaststroke (1:14.32) and 200-yard breaststroke (2:38.45) events.  She also finished second to Parodi in the 200-yard individual medley (2:30.86).

Mount Saint Mary head coach Mary Damm was named Skyline Coach of the Year in Women's Swimming after leading the Blue Knights to their first title since 1998-99.  Purchase received the Team Sportsmanship Award for outstanding sportsmanship.

Five meet records were establish in the new format.  The 1,000-freestyle, 200-butterfly, 200-backstroke, 200-breaststroke and 400-freestyle relay were contested at the Skyline Championship for the first time, replacing shorter events.
