NEWBURGH, N.Y. – Mount Saint Mary College Director of Athletics John Wright has announced that Michele Ross has been named head softball coach.

Ross, who also enters her fourth year as the Director of Intramurals and Recreation at Mount Saint Mary, brings a wealth of collegiate softball experience to the table. She was a four-year starter for Division II Bloomsburg University from 1997-2000 and still holds the Bloomsburg record for triples in a season (12) and triples in a career (22). As a senior captain for the Huskies in 2000, Ross helped lead the team to a third place finish at the NCAA Division II National Championships.

Prior to her appointment at the Mount in 2005, Ross served as a baseball and softball instructor at Frozen Ropes in Scranton, Pennsylvania for nearly three years.

Ross earned a bachelor's degree in sports mass communication from Bloomsburg University in 2000. Originally from Moosic, Pennsylvania, Ross now lives in Middletown, New York, with her husband, Dave.
