2009 All-ECAC Metro Men's Soccer Teams
CENTERVILLE, Mass. - SUNY College at Old Westbury senior forward Fabian Santibanez was selected as the ECAC Division III Metro Co-Player of the Year in men's soccer. St. Joseph's College freshman forward John Dettori was named Rookie of the Year. Overall, eight players were selected to the two All-ECAC Metro teams.
Santibanez, the two-time Skyline Conference Player of the Year, led Old Westbury in goals (11), assists (13) and points (35). Overall he was the conference's co-leader in assists while finishing third in points per game (1.67).
Dettori, the Skyline Conference Rookie of the Year this past season, led St. Joseph's as well as the Skyline Conference in scoring with 19 goals and 47 points. The Golden Eagles captured their second straight Skyline title and NCAA tournament bid.
Joining Santibanez and Dettori on the All-ECAC Metro first team were Stephan Zaech and K.J. LaBarbera (St. Joseph's). The second team included Erik Badger and Jacob Hartog (Bard), Mat Arthurs (Farmingdale) and Michael Dougherty (St. Joseph's).
