Purchase College junior forward Marvin Billups (photo by Oren Vourman) opened the second half of the season in impressive fashion.  Billups was named the Most Valuable Player of the Naismith Classic Championship at Springfield College after averaging 27.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 2.5 steals and 2.0 blocks in leading the Panthers to a runner-up finish.  In the championship game against host Springfield, he scored 33 of Purchase’s 61 points while adding 11 rebounds, four steals, three blocked shots and three assists.
