Men's Basketball - Players of the Week
Patrick MacDonald – Maritime
Sophomore, Center, Buffalo, NY/Canisius
Second-consecutive weekly honor…averaged 21.0 points, 12.0 rebounds, 3.0 blocks and 2.0 steals per game on a 2-0 Skyline week for the Privateers…shot .615 (16-for-26) from the floor…picked up 12 points, eight rebounds and season-bests of four blocked shots and three steals against Purchase…rounded out the week with a career-best 30 points (11-for-15 FG, 8-for-9 FT) and 16 caroms (five offensive) versus Mount Saint Mary.
Jamail Stanley – Old Westbury
Junior, Guard, Syracuse, NY/Christopher Columbus
Fourth weekly honor for the Syracuse native…averaged 24.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 2.5 steals and 1.5 blocked shots in the Panthers’ two Skyline Conference victories, all while shooting .690 (20-for-29) from the field…scored 23 points on 10-for-14 shooting (2-for-3 3FG) to go with six rebounds and four assists in a home victory over Yeshiva…ended the week at Mount Saint Vincent with a 25-point display (10-for-15 FG), adding three assists, two blocked shots and three steals…leads the conference with a 21.4 ppg average.
Men's Basketball - Rookies of the Week
Judah Cohen – Yeshiva
Freshman, Guard, Engelwood, NJ/Frisch
Hot shooting (14-for-20 FG, .700; 9-for-13 3FG, .692) helped the Maccabees to clinch a Skyline Conference Championship berth…scored 17 points on 6-for-7 shooting (3-for-4 3FG) against Sarah Lawrence…added 18 points on a perfect 5-for-5 display beyond the 3-point arc (6-for-8 FG) in the triumph at Sage.
George Riefenstahl – Farmingdale State
Freshman, Forward, Bayport, NY/Bayport
Second-consecutive weekly award, and fourth overall…shot .682 from the field (15-for-22) en route to averages of 17.0 points and 9.0 rebounds over the Rams’ two victories…top game of the week came vs. St. Joseph’s-Brooklyn where he scored 25 points (12-for-18 FG) and added 14 rebounds – both game-high totals.
Women's Basketball - Player of the Week
Tyra Harrison – Farmingdale State
Sophomore, Guard, Baldwin, NY/Baldwin
Over the Rams’ three contests, scored at a 29.3 ppg rate, adding averages of 3.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 3.3 steals per contest, as well…after an 18-point effort to start the week at non-conference Brooklyn College, poured in 45 points (16-for-29 FG, 3-for-4 3FG, 10-for-12 FT) to go with six steals against St. Joseph’s-Long Island, for the third-best single-game scoring output ever by a FSC player…ended the week with 25 points in an important four-point Skyline victory versus St. Joseph’s-Brooklyn…leads the conference on the season with a 22.8 points per game average.
Women's Basketball - Rookie of the Week
Kelly Oliver – Mount Saint Vincent
Freshman, Guard, Carmel, NY/Carmel
Career shooting week off the bench helped the Dolphins to three victories, including two against the top-two teams in the Skyline Conference standings…netted a career-best 13 points on 6-for-12 shooting to go with three assists against Baruch…contributed nine points (2-for-3 3FG) and six rebounds in the win over Sage…scored 11 points (3-for-6 FG, 2-for-3 3FG, 3-for-4 FT), hauled in six caroms and swiped a career-high three steals versus Old Westbury.
Men's Volleyball - Player of the Week
Tommy Rosario – Kean
Senior, Middle Hitter, Belleville, NJ/Belleville
Was dominant in the Cougars’ three-set sweep over eighth-ranked NYU…posted a .625 hitting percentage (16-1-24), while adding two aces and four total blocks (one solo) for a standout 6.83 points per set average (20.5 total)…leads the Skyline in blocks (1.23/set) while ranking second in hitting percentage (.364).
Men's Volleyball - Rookie of the Week
Mikhael Erumshalimski – Ramapo
Freshman, Setter, Fair Lawn, NJ/Fair Lawn
Second-consecutive weekly honor for the setter…averaged 8.8 assists per set for the Roadrunners over the span of four matches (2-2, 2-0 Skyline), while also passing 1.4 digs per set…in five-set match at Baruch, was one dig shy of a double-double with 46 assists and nine passes…dished out 30 and 36 assists in Skyline victories over Sage and Purchase, respectively…8.81 assists per set average on the season is tops among Skyline Conference student-athletes.
