Old Westbury's Jamail Stanley
Complete Release (PDF)

NEW YORK –
The Skyline Conference has announced its 2015-16 men’s basketball all-conference teams, and Old Westbury junior guard Jamail Stanley has been tabbed as Player of the Year in voting conducted by the conference’s 11 head coaches.

The coaches also selected Farmingdale State freshman forward George Riefenstahl as Rookie of the Year, Sage senior swingman Travis Gill as Defensive Player of the Year (for the second-straight season) and Farmingdale State third-year mentor Brendan Twomey as Coach of the Year.

Stanley was a five-time Skyline Conference Player of the Week selection, and leads the conference in scoring (22.2 ppg), while also holding ranks in steals (2nd, 3.1/gm.), rebounding (5th, 9.4/gm.), field goal percentage (7th, .546) and assists (7th, 3.1/gm.). The Syracuse, N.Y., native’s play helped Old Westbury to the regular-season conference title, and the No. 1 seed in this week’s Skyline Conference Championship.

Gill (Brooklyn, N.Y.) takes home Defensive Player of the Year honors for the second-straight season following a senior campaign in which he collected 4.4 rebounds per game, 28 steals and 11 blocked shots.

Riefenstahl (Bayport, N.Y.) was named Rookie of the Week four times, playing in all 26 contests (23 starts) while leading the Skyline with a .583 field-goal percentage. He picked up three double-doubles as a freshman, averaging 9.3 points, 6.7 rebounds and 1.1 blocked shots per outing.

Twomey is in his third season at the helm of the Rams’ program, and helped FSC to a 14-6 record in conference play. That mark was good for a second-place tie in the standings and the No. 3 seed in the conference championship after Farmingdale State was picked to finish ninth in the Skyline’s preseason coaches poll. Twomey is an alumnus of Mount Saint Mary College, where he received his bachelor’s degree in business administration in 2004.

Joining Stanley on the all-conference first-team are: Melvin Ford of Sage; Andy Laurent of St. Joseph’s-Long Island; Patrick MacDonald of Maritime; Matt O’Neill of St. Joseph’s-Brooklyn; and Shelby Rosenberg of Yeshiva.

The all-conference second-team consists of: Jamir Ferebee of Mount Saint Vincent; Trey Kinard of Farmingdale State; Michael Megafu of St. Joseph’s-Brooklyn; P.J. Page of Old Westbury; and Andre Robinson of Sage.
