NEW YORK | The seven Skyline Conference women's tennis coaches have cast their votes in their 2018 preseason coaches poll, and defending champion Yeshiva University has been selected as the top team on the ledger.

The Maccabees (34 pts., five first-place votes) won the 2017 Skyline title, and will lean on senior student-athlete Rebecca Packer for leadership in head coach Danielle Carr's first season at the helm after serving as an assistant coach at YU for three campaigns.

Last season's runner-up, Mount Saint Mary College (29 pts.) received one first-place vote, as did Farmingdale State College -- which finished the poll in a third-place tie with St. Joseph's College-Long Island at 25 points apiece.

The four-team 2018 Skyline Conference Women's Tennis Championship gets underway at home sites with semifinal action on Wednesday, Oct. 17, with the championship final pitting the two winners on Oct. 20.
